Blog Description

Life with Damien is just that! “My Life”; showcasing my knowledge and interests for promotion and recognition within the media profession. It operates on the basis of a three to six month central theme. This promotional blog is a niche for enthusiast readers and viewers with like-minded interests and is dedicated to my love of all things music mainly Reggae, Soul, Jazz and Blues from every decade.

As time goes on The Blog layout will be structured in block themes that cover many different categories; such as Fitness, Sport(athletics), Health, Nutrition and Wellbeing, Art and Culture, Film, Television, Comedy, Travel and Fashion which are also individual focus topics covered separately over the course of a three to six month period.

I plan to operate my blog independently as a site which visitors can be kept up to date on changes and developments to a performer, artist, actor or individuals repertoire. The blog carries a mixture of various aggregated, confessional, specialist and original content that includes; photo images, music and interview videos, feature and news stories, dialogue, analysis and links.

Target reader description
The target readership for my blog is both male and female realistically between the ages of sixteen and seventy, preferably from a category background or just generally a fan of my style of writing and the niche topic being promoted or discussed. I am also targeting the global market ,not only Ireland, but the U.K. and U.S. and all English speaking countries, from all walks of life with second and third level education with a college diploma or degree in urban and rural communities with decent broadband connection.
My goal is to see my blog visitor statistics increase over time ,with many readers spending thirty minutes to two hours, every day or once to three times a week. I also actively respond to comments and encourage readers to engage in dialogue to develop threads.

The kind of demographic I am aiming for are;
*The General public*Media employers* Aspiring Radio D.J’s *Gig D.J.’s * Associated Pod-cast listeners* Music fans * Film Buffs *Comedy Fans * Tourists * Fashionistas.
From time to time I will publish information on the blog regarding booking details for musicians, Reviews of albums and the best places on the internet to purchase media gadgets, music equipment and vinyl for Disc Jockey purposes.

This is to encourage more specialist readers as well as those in the media to take more notice of my body of work as I aim to develop the blog as a portfolio for future reference. Each blog post is continually updated to keep the content fresh and comprehensive.

Life with Damien is a general blog of broad areas of interest,It always contains good  news and constructive topics. The main function of this blog is to promote social living and the impact  music and the various topics have on our lives. I aim to highlight the careers of  Health Professionals,Fitness Instructors, Actors(including Film Directors),Comedians,Musicians, Bands,Record Labels(including Producers) and Artists(performances and exhibitions) who do not receive the attention by the main stream media and deserve the social recognition.

Life with Damien has many confessional and reflective elements from my background as a complementary health professional in training courses and with relation to current affairs my employment history, giving insight and recommendations.

For each blog post published from word-press I have linked the blog address on my face book and twitter accounts, this has been giving me some attention, but more so from original content. I am also linking my posts to other social networking sites such as Blogger, Flickr, Foursquare, Friend-Feed, Good-reads, Google profiles, Gowalla, Linked-in, My-Space,Posterous, Triplt, Tumblr, Vimeo, Reddit, Stumble-upon and Digg.

My intention is to have music promoters, management teams and labels recognise what I have to offer them so they can request my services for Freelance Journalist work as a Reporter, Public relations and or press release officer for music magazines and online reggae media companies.

I regularly contact music labels asking for quotes and permission to write and or film interviews with producers and performers.

I have directly contacted musicians and artists through social networking sites such as My-Space and Face-Book and have been achieving a very encouraging initial response.
I can refer to my employment history and life experiences with regards to feature writing with the current affairs category and for developing my confessional and specialist style of writing for arts and culture. I may develop websites which promote the various topics. My goal is to become more specialised and persue Radio Broadcasting and do Pod-casts with my knowledge of music and film review, this would also include pre-recorded original interview content and live streaming.

I can also hone my skills with music videos, filmed interviews, advertising and promotion so that I will persue a career in television.

Hope you enjoy my blog and I welcome any comments that you may have; if I like them I will incorporate them into the posts.

Thank you.

Blessed Love

  2. Acupuncture is an ancient system of medicine originating thousands of years ago in China. The philosophy behind acupuncture aims at maintaining balance and well being inside the body and promoting life and longevity. Acupuncture is used to treat a wide selection of diseases and disorders including pain, digestive issues, fertility or hormonal issues, anxiety, depression, sleep disorders and asthma. It is really an incredible and effective form of medicine. But, how does it apply to weight loss? Not only does it apply to weight loss, acupuncture will change your health forever.

  3. Hi Damien!
Thanks for visiting my blog. Thought your post on surfing in Ireland was interesting because “surfing” is not what many think of when they think of Ireland. You seem really interesting and I wish you the best.

  4. There could be many infertility solutions around, but increasingly, you will find much more conclusive studies in Western medicine on the effectiveness of acupuncture for fertility. In 2004, a study conducted by the Reproductive Medicine and Fertility Centre in Colorado found that 51% of women who underwent both acupuncture for fertility and IVF became pregnant, while only 36% of those that underwent only IVF got pregnant. The latter group also had a higher rate of miscarriage and still birth (20%) compared to those women who received acupuncture for fertility (8%).In comparison with other alternative infertility solutions, acupuncture for fertility isn’t just an infertility option. Of all natural infertility solutions, acupuncture for fertility is probably the most profitable approach. Acupuncture as an infertility choice works best when the reason for infertility is a functional one like endometriosis infertility, fsh infertility or hormonal infertility.

  5. Hi Damien: Thank you so much for following my blog. I am honored. What a fascinating bio you have, and you are still so young… I say this because I am about to retire, but looking forward hugely to writing MUCH more than I am already, and to trying to get my novel and short stories published. As well as to keep my blog regularly updated! I have yet to visit Ireland – which is terrible, as I was born and grew up in London, but hardly ventured around the “British Isles”… and now have spent the last 25 years on a small island in the Caribbean (Jamaica). You may be new to blogging, but I highly recommend it. I have done over 200 posts now and it is just starting to “grow on me”… It takes time and persistence to find the right links. I will add your blog to my list of favorites, and the more networking you can do in different ways the better – you will gradually build up your followers, and the kind of followers you really want. By the way, you will get lots of SPAM but that’s easy to filter out. WordPress is becoming increasingly user-friendly, I find. All the best from a hot, bright midday in Kingston! (we need some of your Irish RAIN!) Emma

  7. Eating habits Here are some issues you must start off doing when it comes to meals. You should eat meals with color and selection that are about the same size as your fist. And finally, you ought to begin to eat fresh and raw fruits and vegetables. You will notice a change in one week under these basic guidelines.

  8. I personally believe that the aromatherapy candles should use much less important oils than fragrance,So, how do you use crucial oils in candle making Good question – and there are a lot of answers to that question, depending on who you talk to. When I originally tried to research this topic a year ago, there was really little information out on the Internet, with candle supply companies, or any e-books I purchased. 1 year later, there is really a wide variety of answers published in articles, candle supply websites, and so-called candle gurus. Some experts claim that usage per pound of wax is 1 oz – which is similar to using fragrance oils. Now, 1 oz of pure essential oils can be either incredibly strong or incredibly expensive. Others claim that making use of as little 3-20 drops or pound of wax.
